The party was founded as a response to the increasing rise of UK Independence Party (UKIP) and the influence it was exerting on other political parties. The party believes that UKIP's newfound prominence has caused other political parties within the UK to alter their policies and to become increasingly Eurosceptic, which the party strongly criticises.
